I work with organizations built around meaningful, relational experiences and help turn that care into systems and operations that scale—so they can grow without becoming transactional or losing what makes the experience matter.Currently: Director of Business Strategy & Systems at Camp Ramah in California, where I focus on the less visible but essential parts of mission-driven organizations.My work sits at the intersections: translating strategy into practical plans people can actually follow, and supporting leaders as the organization grows, changes, or takes on new challenges.Before moving into nonprofit leadership, I spent about a decade as an award-winning science journalist covering wildlife, ecology, and conservation. That work trained me to make complex subjects understandable without flattening them. It's a skill that turns out to be just as useful inside organizations as it is in science. My reporting has appeared in outlets including Scientific American, The New York Times, National Geographic, and The Washington Post.I also co-founded a boutique wildlife ecotourism company and an international conference for science communicators, experiences that deepened my appreciation for the operational side of values-driven work: budgeting, logistics, systems, risk, and the human realities behind ambitious ideas.I hold a PhD in psychology from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in Jewish nonprofit management from Hebrew Union College. I believe strong operations are a form of care: they respect people’s time, steward shared resources responsibly, and make it possible for mission-driven work to last.I’m a member of the Academy of Magical Arts at the Magic Castle and The Explorers Club—reminders that curiosity, imagination, and wonder still matter, even in serious work.
