Completion of various emergency department travel contracts within level 1+2 trauma centers.

Responsible for patient care in a primary care setting with a shared leadership role as Charge Nurse. This included being responsible for the coordination of care of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) patients, managing multiple patient profiles, developing and establishing shared practices related to process improvements. I designed and implemented a process improvement for colorectal testing that increased laboratory results by 30% for a total return and compliance of 88%. The resulting in a decreased overall risk to patients by enhancing primary preventative measures and championing for early detection screening.

The management of patients presenting with multisystem complications and possibly life-threatening trauma. This position required quick decisive actions based upon evidenced based strategies while considering the needs of diverse populations from the local community. Had to maintain ACLS/PALS certifications and fill the role of acting Charge RN as needed.

This position entailed a focus on local community life safety, residential health care, property conservation of commercial and residential owners, and maintaining safe environmental preservation for all residents of the community. I was able to secure a positon with the Pinellas County Hazardous Material team (Haz-Mat) during my employment with Palm Harbor Fire-Rescue. I was also part of community planning events centered on obtainable, data driven goals , while maintaining flexibility to the changing needs of the staff and the community which I served.

My primary role is to enable patient care staff as it relates to educating on healthcare system implementations, rendering improved documentation and workflow processes, while considering new equipment, ergonomics, usability and systems life cycles. The position comprised of partnering the fields of healthcare education, healthcare informatics, nursing science and computer science. My passion is education and driving change; this role is a balance of both. A biweekly cadence of classroom education mixed with ongoing projects, allow me to stay mentally agile and adaptable, while honing my educating skills.

I currently serve as the Permanent Charge RN within the Bay Pines VA Specialty Clinics. I am currently responsible for the management of a number of nursing staff, technicians, and clerical staff while coordinating patient care with the appropriate services. The Specialty Clinics consist of Cardiovascular, Gastrointestinal, Neurology and the Sleep Disorder Clinics my position requires me to help improve workflow and help manage staff to provide the most optimal care the patient can experience. This involves the collaboration with various services while always referring to evidenced based practices and organizational policies. The result is the creation of a safe patient care environment which is efficient and timely in its delivery of care.
