During my internship at Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL), a Government of India–backed joint venture in the energy sector, I gained hands-on exposure to Human Resource functions while applying psychological theories to real organizational contexts. My primary responsibility was the design and development of an Employee Satisfaction Survey, integrating psychological constructs such as job role clarity, employee engagement, workplace well-being, and compensation & benefits. The survey was grounded in established theories including Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, and Job Demands–Resources Theory, and designed using a structured Likert-scale methodology with qualitative feedback components. Alongside research work, I observed and learned core HR operations, including: End-to-end recruitment processes Payroll processing and attendance management (SAP-based systems) Performance appraisal frameworks (KPIs & KRAs) Compliance with Labour Laws Employee benefits administration HR-led administrative and logistical coordination. This internship strengthened my understanding of how organizational psychology, ethics, and compliance intersect with day-to-day HR practices in a large public-sector infrastructure organization. It also enhanced my skills in research design, policy analysis, survey construction, documentation, and professional reporting, while reinforcing the importance of empathy-driven, data-informed HR interventions.
