I’ve always been interested in computers and networks. It started with building the physical computers, which led to designing the networks that connect them, to architecting complex systems that securely connect users and applications through virtualization and cloud technologies. I’m drawn to the constant challenges of gathering requirements, connecting teams of people to design and implement a cohesive system to meet those requirements and making sure it’s documented and supportable going forward. IT is an ever-changing sandbox with limitless solutions to any problem, understanding how the pieces can be used to solve these problems is what I enjoy today. Professionally starting out at an MSP, supporting multiple small business networks in a wide range of industries, I then moved into Corporate IT, covering roles from User Support to leading a team responsible for the entire corporate and services networks. Currently responsible for architecting, monitoring and maintaining redundant, virtualized environments segmented by next generation firewalls.
