Jarrad Huckshold

I bring over 17 years of experience in the alcohol industry, with expertise spanning spirits, distilling, viticulture and oenology. My qualifications include holding Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology (Honours) from the University of Adelaide and a Diploma of Distilling from the Chartered Institute of Brewing and Distilling. I was the Head Blender at Starward Whisky from 2016 to 2024. During my time, the products were awarded over 100 gold medals at Australian and international competitions. I led the blending team, barrel management, whisky maturation, liquid development & planning, sensory training and new product development. As a consultant to distilleries across Australia and internationally, I help businesses optimise their operations and products. I am passionate about the craft and science of alcohol production and enjoy helping distilleries achieve excellence, from raw ingredients to finished products. Since 2021, I have judged for the Australian Distilled Spirit Awards, bringing an expert perspective to recognising excellence within the industry.
