HoD M-PESA Product Development and Operations
HoD, M-Pesa Product Development & Operations reporting to General Manager Financial Services. The key responsibility was to innovate and develop products that would ensure M-Pesa remains top of mind to Kenyan customers. Some of the product, projects that I worked on in M-Pesa include; migration of M- Pesa from release 7.8 to 9.0 to increase Capacity from 80TPS to 200TPS, banking integration, online Biller integration, M-ticketing, Western Union -IMT, buy goods (merchant product), online payments, design of the new M-Pesa menu, M-Shwari –Micro savings and Micro credit, the next generation system scoping and vendor selection where Huawei was picked as the vendor.

IT-Billing and VAS manager -Airtel Kenya
April 2005- Jun 2010: Head of IT Billing and Value Added services in Airtel Kenya reporting to IT director. The key accomplishment while in Airtel Kenya include; developed the mobile money system (zap) for Zain which later became Airtel money system, ensured accurate and timely billing for both prepaid and postpaid customers, manage the roaming both IREG and TADIG, responsible for Interconnect billing and control, managed the customer care and billing system support, managed VAS platforms (SMSC, USSD, ROAMWARE, MCA, SCA, INROAM) , developed value added services including airtime credit, mobile banking. Scoped the current billing and customer service system for Airtel Kenya -Tabs. April 2000- April 2005: Customer Care and Billing Support (CCBS) –supported Sales, marketing and customer services departments on day-to-day business and processes. Developed a number of in-house solutions, which included banking processe automations, provisioning and number managements automations, standard letter generation automation, e-bills automation, in-house CRM. Managed a team of 3 resources in charge of data and billing control- accuracy of billing and presentation of the itemized bills.
