Served as an Information Service Application Specialist on the Electronic Patient Care Transformation Ambulatory team that provided system-wide implementation and training for the Carolinas Healthcare System with over 7,460 licensed beds (acute care and post-acute care) and 600 ambulatory care and urgent care centers throughout North and South Carolina. Primary responsibility to service assigned Carolinas acute care hospitals and 50 ambulatory care and physician office sites in the region. Experience in implementing and supporting clinical applications for ambulatory electronic medical record. Familiar with Cerner applications and/or resources; (eMar, IView, Powerforms, Orders) Power Chart and Power Note build experience. Assists with implementation (design, build, testing, training and deployment) of new functionality, supporting workflow analysis for end-users, and application maintenance, including CPOE (computerized physician order entry). Conducted remote site visits throughout the region for implementation, training and follow-up.

Provide total patient care to the invasive and non-invasive cardiac and peripheral vascular patient. Obtain and evaluates pertinent data during patient assessment. Communicate adverse events or pertinent information with cardiologist, technologists and others according to patient’s needs. Provide patient teaching, and a safe and private care environment. Removes arterial and venous lines, ensures hemostasis with manual pressure or other pressure device. Adhere to patient care policy for moderate sedation. Participates in the collection of moderate sedation quality assessment tool to further improve documentation and support patient safety. Function as department representative on the Patient Safety Committee and keep staff informed and updated on policies and procedures regarding Patient Safety. Also operate as preceptor and mentor for nursing students, nurse graduates and nurse orientation.

Invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring of the pre/post open heart, abdominal/thoracic, cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and stent placement patient. Administration of medications including titration of vasoactive, inotropes, and chronotropic medications and monitor cardiac arrhythmias. Communicate adverse events or pertinent information with cardiovascular team and surgeons according to patients needs. Arterial and/ or venous sheath monitoring and removal.
