I lead the music department's music education option. This coursework satisfies the state teacher credentialing authority's SUBJECT MATTER requirement, which is required to pursue a teaching credential. I am the liaison between the music department and the education department, and I supervise student teachers in music during their clinical practice. My greatest love is in string education--beginner through advanced. My research most recently has been focusing on visual diagnostics--seeing tension and other movement problems quickly and correcting the player to improve tone and performance. I also consult with outside schools and music organizations on issues of curriculum development and assessment.
