I have had a successful career in the travel industry spanning over 25 years. I have extensive experience in VIP services, commercial and private aviation, hospitality and bespoke travel. I am passionate about travel, exploring new places, meeting new people and enjoying the experience this brings. I am adept at designing tailormade trips, bringing these to life and creating lasting memories. I have a strong work ethic and pride in consistently exceeding expectations. I set up Travel Magellan in 2012, rebranding to Janet Mactavish Travel Designer in 2019, in order to provide a highly personalised service to a select group of affluent and highly-discerning clients from around the world. Exceptional events include:  Organised an annual VIP jury panel event in Paris for the past seven years, for 25 people including global leaders in the fields of science and medicine.  Designed a 17-person, multi-generational three-week tour of China, catering to a wide-range of requirements and individual interests.  Confirmed private jet charter for a Scandinavian national ski team.  Arranged 5-star European cruise for a client’s family; organised emergency medical evacuation and repatriation when one family member was taken seriously ill.  Advised on private yacht charters and a celebratory event for Middle Eastern royalty. Special events include:  Italian road trips for 10 Vintage Ferrari owners.  Group trip to the Ice Hotel in northern Sweden for a female entrepreneur ‘masterminding’ event.  Flexible itinerary for a client’s two week tour of Iceland, travelling from/to Switzerland with his 4x4 expedition vehicle.  A bespoke family adventure, including climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, an East African safari and Zanzibar beach holiday.  Multiple three week tours of New Zealand for various clients, incorporating the Luxury Lodges, helicopter tours and private island dining, boat charters and behind the scenes excursions.

Created detailed, Bespoke Travel Itineraries for Platinum Members

Provided dedicated VIP assistance to a range of special guests including politicians, actors, sports stars and musicians.

Managed the office of the Owner/Director of a VIP events catering company with a client base including royalty, celebrities and high-earners from the private sector.

Launched the Guest Relations Department for a 1,000 room, 4 star deluxe hotel. Created and implemented a guest recognition programme to provide a ‘5 star’ service to VIP guests.

Based in Jeddah, Geneva and Biggin Hill working on private jets for an international client community of ambassadors, diplomats, politicians and private owners. Jets included Global Express, Gulfstream V and VI and Challenger 604

Senior role living and working in Bahrain for 12 years, leading a crew of up to 13. Accountable for setting and monitoring standards, staff training, and health and safety procedures. Responsible for aircraft and passenger issues, including medical situations.
