McIntyre Elder Law assists clients with all elder law and estate planning matters and related litigation. We handle probate, guardianships, trust and estate administration, small business succession planning, Medicaid crisis planning, asset protection, generational wealth planning, long term care Medicaid qualification and benefits retention assistance - and more. The firm also has VA-accredited attorneys and staff to assist veterans and their families with veterans benefits. I regularly host public educational seminars about elder law and estate planning in Western North Carolina. I create social media content - both video content and written blogs - for the firm website and social media platforms.

I worked with King Law in its Waynesville, NC office as a Senior Associate Attorney in the civil litigation division during the summer of 2023. King Law services clients across Western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina in the areas of civil litigation, family law, elder law, and criminal defense.

Set up satellite office of nationwide consumer defense law firm in Asheville, NC and managed two statewide civil litigation dockets. Negotiated settlements and workout agreements on consumer debt accounts and advised debtors of their rights regarding debt collection.

Assisted a partner of the firm in a mass civil action in federal district court that spanned over 2 years representing consumers with defaulted loans in failed land developments against the largest banking institutions in the United States. Was involved in those cases throughout the discovery phase including written discovery, depositions, and mediation. Represented real estate investors and homeowners in foreclosure defense and real estate related distressed debt litigation matters, acquiring a state-wide reputation in this emerging practice area in Western North Carolina. Advised clients in real estate transactions, contracts, and disputes. I also performed curative title work and drafted quiet title actions for title companies. Exposure to municipal law with partner who served as town attorney.

Developed and managed state-wide foreclosure defense law practice. Defended consumers against banks and lending institutions from foreclosure and negotiated loan modifications, short sales, forbearances, Deeds-in-Lieu of foreclosure transactions and other resolutions to defaulted mortgage obligations. Drafted and argued emergency actions to enjoin foreclosure sales. Performed real estate transactions, including closings. Adept at handling complex and contentious real estate transactions. Regularly performed pro bono work for low income individuals and families in financial distress. Collaborated regularly with Pisgah Legal and On Track Financial Counseling Services on development of foreclosure defense law in NC. Organized and prepared CLE materials and spoke at CLE events for attorneys and paralegals on consumer law and foreclosure defense.

Managed real estate practice area of boutique law firm. Firm also handled business/corporate law, estate planning and probate matters.

Formed and managed solo law practice assisting clients in WNC with real estate closings and real estate disputes.

Managed Asheville office of statewide real estate transactional law firm. Performed residential real estate closings and creditor side foreclosure work in 19 counties in WNC.

Studied transnational litigation and comparative constitutional law in London during the summer of 1999. Traveled throughout the United Kingdom, France, and Central Europe.
