The BIA is the trade association for innovative enterprises involved in UK bioscience. Members range from emerging and more established biotech companies through to pharmaceutical corporates, as well as service providers to the bioscience sector.

Cellzome is a leader in Chemoproteomics, a technology which monitors the interaction of small molecules with their protein targets under close-to-physiological conditions, directly in cells or tissues. As head of Business Development I led the negotiation of two significant collaborations with GSK and was responsible for the alliance management of these. These collaborations led to the acquision of Cellzome by GSK in May 2012

The core focus of Cambridge Antibody Technology (CAT) was antibody therapeutics, primarily using phage display and ribosome display technology. At CAT l was responsible for a range of transactions - both buy-side and sell-side - and was part of the negotiation team for the strategic collaboration with AstraZeneca established in 2004. Following the acquisition of CAT by AstraZeneca in 2006 I worked with the parent company Therapy Areas (Respiratory and Inflammation, CNS & Pain and CV & GI) in the evaluation of opportunities and subsequent transactions.
