It has also provided me the chance to get wider experience of higher level games, refereeing games at Cardiff Arms Park. The Young Match Officials (YMO) Programme Lead is a role that involves working with young referees or players who are looking to get into refereeing or to develop their refereeing further. In 2016/17 season NLD had 106 new Young Match Officials progress through either a Level 1 or a Level 2 course. Responsibilities: Work with the NLD Young Match Officials Programme Committee to plan & develop the calendar of events for the Young Officials throughout the season. Communicate with the NLD YMO’s to ensure they have the necessary support and encouragement to develop their refereeing. Work as a liaison between all relevant parties. Including, the NLD Referees Society, the local RFU Professional Staff, Parents, YMO’s, YMO Supporters & Club Referee Coordinators. As part of my university course, one of our modules was to engage with a local business and provide environmental consultancy services. St Ann's Valley Centre is an NHS GP surgery and also provides City Council services, NHS Nottingham City clinics and Nottingham City Homes access. For the project, we provided a full environmental analysis of the facility working out the usage and the costs of utilities among other analysis. Based on the findings we provided recommendations as to how St Ann's Valley Centre could decrease their environmental impact and save costs in the process.

I am responsible for the delegation of tasks, organising of events and the handling of prospective business opportunities. I have learnt to undergo tasks while being under pressure and performing at the highest level. As well as this, I have learnt to work in a team with people from different cultures and how to get around language barriers as there are 4 different languages.

Looking to move quickly up the levels and develop my abilities and leadership. I have moved from Level 10 to Level 9 in record time within the society, again proving my ambition and drive to be the best I can be and perform at the highest level. I am currently working towards my target of 100 hours of volunteering through vInspired. As a Young Match Official, every game I referee counts towards this.
