Responsible for the development of a grants management system to support The Research Administration Services Office at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Developed a Web application to support the management of experimental research on human subjects. Developed system requirements and specifications from user interviews and work groups. Responsible for keeping the requirements within budgeted and scheduled allocations. Collected statistical database performance information and tuned when required.

Responsible for the development of an inventory system to support space station maintenance and operations at NASA. Tasks included assigning workloads to five software engineers, verification and validation of design, and implementation of key components.

Supported the development and integration of the Guidance, Navigation and Control Test Station to support Space Shuttle software testing. Responsible for the coordination of work between subsystem engineers and software developers. Tested classified flight software for the Department of Defense Space Shuttle missions.

Worked with System Administrators and Database Administrators (DBA) to ensure completion of tasks and resolution of integration issues. Coordinated with various business teams to identify goals for proof of concept (POC) projects. Was responsible for evaluating new technologies and working with vendors to support early adopter programs. Deployed imaging technologies which enabled the business to save over $9 million USD. Currently responsible for a total operating budget (labor, hardware and software) of over five million dollars annually. Managing a 24X7 global team of more than thirty people. Responsible for the deployment and management of private cloud environments which are used by over sixty separate applications. Successfully implemented virtualized platforms to enable hardware resource sharing between multiple applications. Standardized deployments of core technologies including Weblogic, Websphere and Business Objects which enabled a reduction of the server footprint and a savings of more than $2M USD in hardware and support. Business duties include providing cost estimates for customers, capacity planning, chargeback reconciliation, monitoring and issue resolution. Use established program management methodologies to ensure tasks are completed within scheduled time frames. Partnered with off-shore and on-shore vendors to maintain proper staffing levels for global projects.
