I have gained a Merit in my LLM (Master of Laws), after having attained a 2:1 in my LLB. During my studies I also held a part-time job in IT which makes me well suited to the modern working world. Following my graduation from Exeter University, I now manage a team of 6 in the IT department of Avery Healthcare, whilst searching for a role in the legal sector. I am currently looking to gain work experience and internships at law firms in order to secure a better understanding of how firms operate and begin my career as a solicitor.

Three days’ work experience based at Avon’s Northampton offices gaining work experience with the group legal team at Natura & Co. Despite the short period, I was able to gain a plethora of experience spanning several legal disciplines: • Legal Research: Investigated a BYOD policy focusing on the GDPR, governance, and employee tax implications; explored statutory work break requirements; and reviewed the recent changes in anti-trust law, namely the vertical block exemption regulation following the updates of VBER and introduction of VABEO – assessing their effects on dual distribution entities. • Contract Review & Drafting: Drafted an executive employment contract including writing sign-on bonus (clawback) and mobility clauses; reviewed witness statement documents and drafted a template for another witness; and reviewed a supplier agreement valued at £2.3M. • Drafting emails to be sent out to the senior leadership team along with (e-)meeting in-house counsel in foreign offices and engaging with an external private practice firm. • Researched and created a PowerPoint presentation on Employment Tribunals to provide training.
