Memorial Middle School Band Director/Fine Arts Department Head 2 time TMEA Texas State Honor Band Finalist 2004 and 2008, finished in top 12 out of over 500 middle schools in the State of Texas twice. 3 time TMEA Area Honor Band Finalist 2004, 2008, 2011. Started Memorial M.S. Band program – Earned Sweepstakes Award in first year of existence, continued sweepstakes ratings (most in RGV since 1997) The only HCISD and Region 28 CC middle school band to earn all Superior Concert ratings for the past 17 years in a row. The most sweepstakes of any HCISD and Region 28 middle school band (16 out of 17) in the last 17 years. Won 1st Place Marching Band Award Harlingen Christmas Parade multiple times Started first middle school jazz program in HCISD– Earned numerous Best in Class Awards and Best of Festival awards. Multiple 1st place and Best in Class awards for jazz. Highest ratio of band enrollment to student population of any HCISD campus. Served TMEA/ATSSB as Region Band Coordinator/Organizer/Clinician and adjudicator.
