I am a budding Journalist with multi-platform skills. During my first year at Huddersfield University I developed the basics of journalism, everything from journalistic writing to camera operator to video editor to sound editor. I took those skills into second year and built upon them, I produced several TV and radio news reports and was presenting and producing during a week of Planet Radio. Currently in my final year, I am editing promotional videos for the university marketing department and reporting on news stories on a weekly basis. I hope to leave university with a vast knowledge of media production

I worked as part of a crew that filmed the Graduate Fashion Show. Working with other members of the team and the editor, our job was to orgainise ourselves into postions that would provide us with the best coverage of the event. I was responsible withe providing the editor with the shots that were needed.

Subjects studied for my degree included Radio Production, Television Production, Media Sociology, Online Journalism and Investigative Journalism. As well as providing me a thorough working knowledge of the media industry, my degree work has also taught me effective time management and prioritisation skills, organisational skills and analytical skills. During my degree I frequently had to contact local press offices and local people for stories from the area, improving communication skills in the process. For my practical project, I worked with the marketing department of the university, during this time I created a series of promotional videos for their website.
