As a Senior Project Manager, I oversee the production of flood studies, drainage studies, and various submissions to FEMA for Letters of Map Change (LOMC). As a local expert in stormwater engineering, I provide guidance to our clients regarding local, state, and federal floodplain development regulations.

• Manage Stormwater Engineer and provide oversight of the Local Flooding Program • Serve as the first ever Garland Transformation Office Facilitator by leading monthly meetings with the City Management Office to discuss city-wide process improvement initiatives • Facilitate the review and permitting of private development projects • Project Manager for the establishment of a Flood-Prone Property Buyout Ordinance and Program Guidelines • Primary technical reviewer for flood and drainage studies associated with private development, CIP projects, and the 2019 Bond Program • Serve as the FEMA Community Rating System (CRS) Coordinator for the City of Garland • Serve as the Engineering Department representative on the internal review board for Neighborhood Vitality • Manage the annual Civil Engineering Intern and facilitate the Engineering Department Exposure Plan • Coordinate revisions to the City’s Technical Standards Manual and Book of Standard Construction Details

Public servant, working daily to ensure local, state, and federal engineering codes / standards are being adhered to by engineering consultants who submit construction plans to the City for a permit. Our development engineering group is working to build the best and safest Garland imaginable. As a Certified Floodplain Manager, I am the primary City reviewer for all drainage and flood studies.

I worked on a variety of stormwater related water resources and transportation projects. Storm drain and inlet design, detention pond design, dam assessments, bridge and culvert hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, drainage ditch analysis and design, flood studies and floodplain mapping, and hydraulic modeling for flood warning systems are among my track record while at HDR. I gained experience with 2-D hydraulic modeling for dam breach analyses, floodplain mapping, and storm drain design and became familiar with FEMA standards and criteria through Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) preparation and submittal. Performed detailed reviews of hydrologic and hydraulic models as well as drainage reports. • Composed a report for the City of Lincoln summarizing a five year stormwater quality monitoring study of two urban watersheds. • Synthesized data to improve study interpretation and practical implications of stormwater BMPs.

• Oversaw construction of WASH facilities at six primary schools with the Water for Kids project • Prepared technical documents and drawings, including an operation & maintenance manual • Held two educational seminars for the Cambodian national staff to build their WASH capacity • Constructed and experimented with a roughing filter model to pretreat pond water

• Thesis title: “Water Quality Models for Stormwater Runoff in Two Lincoln, Nebraska Urban Watersheds” • Managed a water quality field study that included the following duties: collaboration with the USGS and City of Lincoln, water sample collection, lab analysis, data organization, statistical analysis, pollutant mass load estimation, report generation, and supervision of four undergraduate employees • Calibrated and maintained ISCO stream stage and area velocity flow equipment for the development of site specific stage-discharge relationships • Prepared 2010 project report for the City of Lincoln Watershed Management Division, titled: “Development of Storm Water Discharge Pollutant Load Model for Holmes Lake Watershed” • Prepared paper and presentation discussing research findings for the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) conference held May 2011 in Palm Springs, CA

• Performed hydraulic calculations using HEC-RAS on over 200 delineated watersheds • Assisted in scour inspection for over 50 county bridges in southeastern Nebraska • Prepared Bridge Analysis Reports to be sent to the Nebraska Department of Roads

• Operated the GPS, total station, differential level • Recorded the collected data in a field book
