Maintained and operated the Land Mobile Radio trunking system back-haul network throughout Japan, primarily supporting emergency first responders. Designed and implemented a Cisco 3750X layer 3 switch network to support surveillance video feeds and intrusion alarm management for Anderson AFB security forces in Guam transmitting over different media, e.g. fiber, copper, and RF. Configured Motorola/Zebra 650/7131/7161 wireless APs supporting DLA and Water & Electric monitoring systems on Okinawa via RFS 6000 Controller. Developed a network solution for the NexRad Weather Radar system to convert from TDM to Ethernet technology using spare switches at no cost to the customer. Primarily worked on Brocade switches FEX624/ICX6450 learning MRP ring protocol, and Cisco switches 3550/3650/2950/3750 as customer edge devices.

Operated and maintained the backbone digital transmission network of the Global Information Grid that connects all black aggregate traffic between each camp, post, base, and station on the island of Okinawa consisting of 20 locations and 21 communication links (14 fiber-optic links and 7 digital microwave radio links). Conducted preventative maintenance inspections on all transmission equipment including fiber optic terminals, microwave radios, multiplexers, circuit conditioning equipment, patch and test bays, alarm and monitoring terminals, timing and synchronization equipment, DC batteries banks, and power distribution equipment. Utilize TRAMCON management network to monitor all SONET nodes, radio equipment, and remote stations alarms to maintain situational awareness of equipment at these remote sites. Verify Circuit Emulation over IP SubNetwork connectability via CiscoWorks networking program. Installation and de-installation of many data rates using different telecommunication transmission mediums i.e. Single and Multi Mode Fiber, Cat-5e, Cat-6a, DS-0, DS-1, and DS-3. Followed telecommunications service orders (TSO), conduct testing and acceptance on newly installed links/channels/trunks, update line diagrams schematics on all circuits connecting to JWIT-N equipment, and conducted quality control service checks monthly on same links/channels/trunks. Acquired CCNA-Wireless Certifications while performing this mission.
