As a teaching assistant for the courses Fundamentals of Business Math and Principles of Finance I work with the professors to help students learn! Duties include independently leading tutorials once a week (per course), marking, answering emails and questions from students, and more.

During my time at BDO, I have vastly grown my knowledge of accounting and gained hands-on experience in the industry. I have practiced completing corporate tax returns, preparing financial statements, participating in audit and review engagements, and more. It has made me proficient in softwares such as Caseware, Excel, APT, iFirm, etc.

In my role as Shift Supervisor I exercised skills such as leadership problem solving, as well as navigated interpersonal problems such as staff or customer conflicts. This role helped to shape me into an excellent problem solver, as I had to adapt to new challenges daily. Additionally, the role further developed my leadership skills through the opportunity to provide coaching and guidance to my team.
