Jaime B.

As Director of Development, Jaime leads the organization's national fundraising strategy to resource Immigration Equality's direct legal services for LGBTQ asylum seekers in the USA and resettlement programs for LGBTQ asylum seekers across the globe. He manages the development team's fundraising efforts-- providing strategic vision while serving as a frontline fundraiser for the organization's individual, corporate, and foundation development programs.

My service on the board of the Miami Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals includes chairing National Philanthropy Day, chairing the membership committee, chairing the education committee, serving as President-elect, and now as President of the chapter.

As Interim Director of Development for PeaceJam Foundation, Jaime led the organization's efforts to evaluate and enhance their fundraising programs to ensure short, mid, and long-term strategic success. This was a temporary, interim contractor role to support PeaceJam during a critical strategic planning process and leadership transition.

As Head of Philanthropy at Action for the Climate Emergency, Jaime managed the national development team and guided the donor engagement strategy for the organization through a period of rapid 57% year-over-year growth. He led the efforts to raise ACE's 11.2 million-dollar annual budget through a thoughtful combination of data-driven development strategies and inspirational giving practices.

As the Development Director for Miami Dade College Foundation, Jaime managed a seven-figure portfolio of individual, institutional, and corporate donors benefiting Miami Dade College's programs and scholarships for students.

As the Director of Corporate Relations at Perez Art Museum Miami, Jaime managed the museum’s corporate seven-figure portfolio of local, national, and international sponsors/partners and guided the corporate engagement strategy for the institution.

As Executive Director / CEO its my responsibility and privilege to lead the OUT Miami Foundation and manage all operational activities, including: 1) Design and implementation of programming 2) Board recruitment, training, and development 3) Volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision 4) Donor development 5) Marketing & PR 6) Community relations and relationship-building OUT Miami Foundation is an innovative community organization whose mission is to promote​ engaged​ philanthropic giving by the LGBT community, to build community through strengthening social, professional, and cultural connections between LGBT people,​ ​and to empower LGBT-serving organizations making a difference in Miami-Dade county. Our work identifying and engaging LGBT philanthropists is crucial to the long-term sustainability of our community.

I managed all of development-related operations for SAVE, a 501c(3) and 501c(4) hybrid political advocacy organization. My duties included management of major donor programs, individual donor solicitations, corporate sponsorship solicitations, management and production of special events, financial management, creation of new donor programs, marketing, and donor outreach. During my tenure as Development Director, we ended our fiscal year 27% above budget, our major special events (Champions of Equality and Halloween Ball) exceeded budgeted revenue by 58% and 18%, respectively, and we increased membership in our major donors program by 191% and in our young donors program by 600%.

I am the program Director for the PeaceJam International Experience Program. We bring young adults from across the USA to volunteer abroad in sustainable projects. All of our current projects are based in El Salvador, Central America, but we are looking to expand to other communities.

•Worked closely with Nobel Peace Laureates during PeaceJam conferences •Recruited, selected, and trained college students from 3 states to serve as conference mentors (facilitation skills, problem-solving, icebreaker training, etc.) •Planned conference service events and recruited campus organizations, community members, and students to participate •Prepared and presented budget proposals to prospective donors/sponsors. •Created an annual campaign, fundraised for a Public Talk special event, and created an mentor alumni donor program
