I was hired as a summer intern in the Community Health department of DuPage County Health Department. Under the Vice President of Community Health, I was given the opportunity to assist all departments of the community health sector. My personal favorite was working in their Epidemiology department collecting municipality data to send off to our state, which then uses the data to submit for federal reports. Another great opportunity I had was developing a computerized program for the Dental Health Department to use while they were onsight assisting children with dental hygeine. This program reduced the cost of having someone analyze the data manually, and increased efficiency.
