Jacob Tourjeman
Chief of Staff & Head of Operations @ Invert
About
👋🏼 In short, I’m the one who makes the trains run on time and in the right direction. In long: I’m a pragmatic business operator, integrator, and leader who builds organizational and financial systems, eliminates friction, and drives execution at innovative, tech-enabled companies. I’m currently the Chief of Staff and Head of Operations at Invert, a Y-Combinator backed bioprocessing software startup where I help turn founder vision into action by aligning company-wide initiatives, managing finance and operations, driving focus around product-market fit, and supporting strategy, growth, and fundraising. Before Invert, I was the founding operator at Ordaos, an AI drug discovery startup (venture backed, $21.5M raised) where I built and led operations end-to-end, aligning company-wide initiatives, managing the P&L and forecasts, removing friction so teams could deliver against ambitious milestones, driving company strategy, and supporting capital raises and revenue ops. Before Ordaos, I spent a few years leading projects and programs at a creative media startup and in education at a NYC-based nonprofit. Along the way I gained invaluable experience in operations and leadership, managing teams, delivering award-winning work, and meaningfully contributing to the mission at those ventures.I am also a founder of Broadway2Business, where real Broadway actors lead immersive corporate workshops that redefine presence, communication, influence, and storytelling for executives, sales teams, and any group seeking a transformative experience. At my core, I love leading, building, and “being the glue” at innovative, mission-driven ventures.

Experience

Chief of Staff & Head of Operations
New York, NY
Invert is a YC-backed Bioprocess AI Software company. We are building the intelligence layer for bioprocessing, helping biopharma teams turn fragmented development and manufacturing data into a compounding organizational knowledge base. As Chief of Staff and Head of Operations, I act as an operational extension of the CEO, building the systems that keep the company clear, fast, and aligned as we scale: • Partner with the CEO to translate strategy into operating priorities, planning cycles, and cross-functional execution. • Own finance and business operations, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting oversight, legal coordination, and vendor management. • Build and run the company’s operating system: executive dashboards, metrics infrastructure, and planning cadences that improve decision speed and accountability. • Design internal tooling and AI-enabled workflows that increase leverage across the team. • Connect GTM functions through shared systems and data, building sales enablement and RevOps infrastructure that improves pipeline visibility, coordination, and execution speed. • Built a GTM knowledge system that centralizes data from sales calls and customer interactions into a normalized database connected to an internal AI agent, enabling shared context, faster onboarding, and continuous learning loops across the organization.

Founder
New York, NY
I founded and run Broadway2Business partnering with my fiancé, a working Broadway actor and writer, to deliver immersive workshops that build presence, communication, influence, and storytelling for executives and teams. I lead marketing, sales, and workshop design, translating stagecraft into structured business-relevant experiences.

Sr. Vice President, Operations
New York, NY
Ordaos Bio is an AI-powered biotech combining a protein generation software platform with an in-house wet lab to design and validate novel drug candidates. As SVP of Operations I did the following to build a high-clarity, high-velocity organization with disciplined execution and strong investor confidence: • Led company-wide operations and strategic execution during Ordaos’s transition from early discovery to platform-scale drug design. • Partnered with the founder and board to translate strategy into operating plans, financial models, and cross-functional execution. • Owned P&L, forecasting, and headcount planning across ML, wet lab, software, and G&A. • Built operating cadences that increased predictability, decision speed, and accountability across R&D programs. • Worked with the CEO to raise $21.5M across multiple fundingrounds, supporting platform expansion and advancement of lead assets.

Vice President, Operations
New York, United States
Promoted after establishing early operational foundations, I stepped into the VP role to scale the company through its seed stage and expanding partnership demands. I grew the team from 9 to 27, introduced real operational discipline through KPI/OKR tracking and project management systems, and implemented agile delivery across wet lab, ML, and software groups. As our pharma and biotech partnerships matured, I created more transparent and predictable execution cadences/systems that helped the organization move faster and coordinate more effectively.

Founding Operator
New York, New York, United States
As the company’s first operator, I built the Business Operations and People functions from the ground up, recruiting the founding team of 9 AI scientists and biologists and shaping the early culture. I designed the original org structure, hiring plans, and HR infrastructure, while standing up onboarding, performance, financial systems, and project coordination processes. I also managed the NYC office and lab buildout and oversaw early vendor, finance, and compliance needs, creating the foundation that made later scale possible.

Program Manager & Educator
New York, NY
LEAP NYC is a nonprofit that brings arts education to under-resourced public schools. I served as a Program Manager for a Brooklyn location (Park Slope). I was a leader of program development, budgeting, and recruitment of teaching artists, and managed location budgets to support high-impact, culturally relevant and engaging arts education. By redesigning the curriculum and hiring teaching artists in engaging areas like music production, songwriting, and hip hop dance, I increased semester-to-semester student retention by nearly 20% compared to the previous academic year. I also partnered closely with leadership on long-term planning and music programs impact tracking, contributing to organizational growth and improved student outcomes. During COVID school shutdowns, I designed and implemented the transition to virtual programs for my location, enabling continuity of arts education in a fully remote environment.

Producer & Project Manager
Greater New York City Area
The Vocal Company was a creative media startup specializing in media production, education and artist development. I managed 50+ client media projects end-to-end, overseeing budgeting, production, and release execution. I served as project manager on a Grammy-winning track and led delivery on award-winning albums for groups like the Nor’easters and Pentatonix. My work contributed to 20+ Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs) and millions of streams across platforms. I also designed and led summer educational programs for student artist cohorts and recruited and trained 7 interns in music production and creative delivery. As the company grew, I partnered closely with the CEO to scale project delivery systems and internal operations across its creative and educational offerings.

A&R Associate
Greater Los Angeles Area
At Universal Music Group, I managed music catalog assets, artist scouting, coordinating metadata, rights management, and audio delivery for high-volume releases across the US and China. This role gave me experience managing data workflows, talent scouting, and cross-functional communication between creative and licensing teams.

Outreach and Administration
Tallahassee, Florida, United States
In this early career role, I led fundraising outreach and community programming for FSU Hillel (a Jewish student organization), coordinating events, fundraising, communications, and handling administrative operations to support a growing student community.
