Jacob Wannop

As a Safety Specialist I represented safety from a corporate level in assisting leadership and personnel. I worked directly with all levels of management and personnel within the company as well as with outside resources and customers. All efforts were focused on providing and maintaining an injury free workplace while understanding and working toward maintaining business viability in a competitive market. My role included sub-contractor prequalification and management, management of the Drug and Alcohol program and I was a key facilitator in the return to work / injury management process. Policy, procedure and process development and implementation were also in my role as was safety training development and presentation. I actively managed multiple programs and objectives using a project based approach, which included regular reports, updates, and changes in order to complete on time and budget. I have worked in the Oil and Gas, Petro Chemical ,as well as manufacturing industries both in maintenance including turnarounds and construction. My construction experience includes, Mod yards, Fabrication, Green field and brown field work. I lead a team of site advisers at 10+ locations across Alberta, British Columbia, The North West Territories and Saskatchewan. The team would include as many as 14 Safety Advisers.
