I have recently obtained BT accreditations in fibre splicing and blowing of fibre optic cables/bundles. I have experience in this field working on a live network nationwide for BT Openreach. My role was to provide fibre broadband service from the BT network to customers/ businesses properties. This would consist of fitted drop tubes from the BT telephone poles to the property, completing 2 fibre splices, one in the Fibre distribution point, and the second in the splitter node, before blowing the fibre through the tubes underground.

MDU supervisor for Jersey telecom.

My role as a fibre broadband engineer at jersey telecom consisted of fibre to the home installations from the exchanges to the customers property. Qualified in fibre splicing, fibre jointing and OTDR testing. Switching copper ADSL broadband customers over to fibre. I have worked on all 4 departments: SDU- fibre to the home installations. MDU- fibre broadband pre prep for multi units. Enterprise- fibre to the business installations. Network audit/tester- OTDR testing and fibre faulting from exchange to property. Competent in fibre joint building of 288,144,96 and 48 fibre joints. OTDR testing real time to prove fibres over long distances that light source cannot travel.
