Secondment to the Japanese sales subsidiary supporting existing customers and new sales opportunities. The primary aim was to assist and improve the relationship with an OEM customer with regular quality issues. The 18-month position was removed after relations improved during my placement.

Part of a small team which completed the general maintenance and gardening of an 18th Century property.

* Providing frontline technical support to subsidiaries. * An evaluation of the technical support business tools was completed. My recommendations were then implemented * Designing, project managing and procuring exhibition and test rigs for the division. * Generating marketing collateral and customer-facing technical documents. This included authoring, illustrating and reviewing content for a variety of platforms. Specialist software competencies were gained using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Unigraphics NX.

Assisted with the project co-ordination of several large multidisciplinary projects. Tasks included: - Project management of personnel and finances using Microsoft Excel and Project. - Assisted in the planning phase of a nuclear critical lift to replace a chimney flue. In addition, a presentation on 'An Evaluation of Nuclear Power Economics' was produced, drawing on information from a variety of different sources and researching developments in the industry.

* Processing student finance applications for financial support. * Communicating with students/disabled/elderly people to advise on applications for finance. This included resolving challenging situations. * Processing schools’ financial transactions.

* Developing and supervising the Product Marketing Team who co-ordinate between sales, manufacturing and design to ensure products are managed effectively and profitably. Team responsibilities include: * Supporting the division’s Business Manager on commercial, strategic and operational tasks. * Representing the marketing department on project teams and authoring business documentation. * Technical authoring and illustrating of customer facing technical documents and marketing collateral. * Financial analysis and recommendations for business development decisions. * Communicating and co-ordinating with sales subsidiaries on product development, opportunities and sales. * Representing the division at events for customers and investors. * Personal highlights: * Product marketing engineer for the division’s largest ever development project, including authoring business plan. * Led contract management of a £500k development project with a customer.

* A one year business development secondment. The business development team provides business and strategic assistance to divisional management and sales subsidiaries. My key responsibilities are: * Forecasting/analysing sales regions and understanding performance through market knowledge. * Developing, modelling and analysing pricing structures for multinational customers. * Monitoring competitor financials and industry data to draw conclusions on the market. * Researching and developing a global sales strategy for a target customer with an Industry 4.0 project. * Reviewing and supporting local sales and marketing strategies. Personal highlights: * Developing the structure for Renishaw’s largest repeating single product deal. * Pioneering a discount analysis (in a six sigma style) that was referred to a panel of directors.
