Jack Struck
Electrical Engineering Intern @ Zero Zone
About
After my recent completion of a Master's of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering in December 2025, I'm eager to begin a full-time career in a promising field. I've had internship experiences in controls, manufacturing, product certification, construction, and power systems alongside my college education. I'm a quick learner that is willing to put in the time to prove myself in any industry.

Electrical Engineering Intern
Ramsey, Minnesota, United States
At my second internship at Zero Zone, I was in charge of continuing to move the electrical drafting software to SolidWorks Electrical and helping with in-house Universal Listing tests. When working with SolidWorks Electrical, I was exposed to inventory systems and large active databases. This included part verification, schematic design, and active improvements. This gave me the experiences required to design a robust electrical control system. The Universal Listing (UL) testing was concerned with extending existing UL certifications to apply to flammable refrigerant systems. This included test environment construction, data collection, and data analysis. Through this experience, I gained an appreciation for UL standards and other industry standards.

Electrical Design Intern
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
At MCE, I was part of the Retail and Hospitality sector. My responsibilities in this position included proficiently using Revit to design construction documents (CD), writing accurate CD specifications, and helping add addendums to CD. I learned the importance of clear communication on the technical documents and specifications being sent out to prevent any confusion by the client. I learned the chain of command required to produce CDs to be stamped/signed by a licensed professional engineer. Every detail made an impact on the final product. I got to see firsthand what level of accountability it took to release electrical designs to be used in construction.

Electrical Engineering Intern
Ramsey, Minnesota, United States
At Zero Zone, I was tasked with helping set up SOLIDWORKS Electrical to replace the prior technical document drawing programs. I learned the importance of working closely in a team to understand what was expected to smooth the transition. Some challenges I faced while working on this project were personally becoming an expert at the software, designing symbols to meet technical standards, and reformatting old parts specifications to be used in the new software. When I was not working on the main project, I got hands-on experience on the manufacturing floor assembling, testing, and learning about refrigeration systems. Being hands-on in the assembly process, I learned the importance of clear and well-produced technical documents. I learned someone always relies on clear communication to make their job possible. Through quality testing, I saw the challenges faced during product integration.

Groundskeeper Assistant
Independent School District 206
Alexandria, Minnesota, United States
At Independent School District (ISD) 206 I was in charge of the upkeep of building exteriors, parking lots, and sports facilities. I was in charge of garbage removal, lawn upkeep, stadium upkeep, facilities repairs, and maintenance equipment upkeep. At ISD 206 I worked with a crew of four to six people as well as district and building officials.

Front End Sales Associate
Elden's Fresh Foods
Alexandria, Minnesota, United States
As a Front End Sales Associate, I was tasked with several different positions while at Elden's. My responsibilities included bagging groceries, collecting carts, and cleaning the front end of the store. After a year, I was promoted to a check lane clerk position. This added the responsibility of inhibiting sales transactions and customer interactions. My final promotion came two years later when I became a Customer Service Associate. In this position, I was responsible for merchandise returns, coupon ledgers, communicating with department heads, and resolving customer issues. I left this position due to my pursuit of a college education in a different city.
Education

Electrical and Electronics Engineering
My Master's of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering is a continuation of my Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. This continuation includes classes in power electronics, control systems, and semiconductor physics/manufacturing. Power Electronics - My experience in power electronics applies to electrical conversion and power conversion control systems. This includes AC/DC power circuit analysis in efficiency, output quality, and practical applications. Outside formal power classes, I've taken machine learning classes that have used power consumption datasets in machine learning applications. Control Systems - As a continuation of my undergraduate degree, my control classes. I've taken classes in linear and non-linear control realms. These have retained to PID controllers and concepts of stability. Semiconductor Physics/Manufacturing - My experience with semiconductors includes device design, practical implementations, and hands-on clean room experience.
