My role was to assist the head buyer in all aspects of acquiring new season’s products, acting as the main administrator during the process from deciding which products to purchase to the delivery thereof, including ordering of the goods from suppliers, setting up the products for the website and the logistics of delivery. Principal tasks included: • Attending meetings to analyse new season products and subsequently advising as to what I believe will sell well • Assisting with the ordering process by putting together purchase orders and sending these to suppliers • Setting up the products for the website by writing creative descriptions and editing images in Photoshop • Managing the goods-in calendar by liaising with suppliers, both UK-based and International, to ensure that orders arrive on time but in a steady, controllable flow and chasing late or incomplete deliveries • Contributing to the website blog regularly, writing entries on product advice and days out in the country with my dog • Liaising with the marketing team regarding advertising campaigns, advising on what to push and working this into a calendar to coincide with the arrival of those goods • Manage the sorting and presentation of the website pages daily by arranging products according to various factors, as well as creating new departments and ranges. I am a key holder and open up the business every morning, a duty which arose due to my keenness to start early and history of excellent punctuality and reliability.
