I was working with the Induction Melt Furnaces which operate at 1400 degree’s Celsius My main responsibility was to maintain the four furnaces and overhead cranes, the water system, including the pump room and all other equipment associated the Melting Area. Mouldline working on the Sand and casting system along with maintaining the Cope and Drag m/c’s to achieve daily production schedules and daily preventive maintenance. Core Room. Overhauling Sutter’s on a planned frequency, maintaining the Core room equipment including conveyors, ovens and Sand system.

Forecast and generate monthly PM’s as well as corrective maintenance alongside breakdown, continuous improvement, project works ensuring enough labour is available for all 6 production lines. Manage weekly preventative maintenance program ensuring full work packages and parts are available vs labour requirements for the week. Forecast a 4 week preventative schedule according to product changes required by production. Manage trades team (14 Fitters & 2 Electricians) to make sure weekly goals are achievable. Manage and schedule external contractor’s works as well as calibration of equipment onsite. Manage monthly labour and materials budgets. Report weekly updates of plant maintenance and expenditure to General Manager. Plan and schedule overhauls for each line including ordering of all materials and fabrication of parts locally and internationally. Audit the CMMS to ensure data integrity as well as PM task list along with frequencies. Build business cases for CAPEX for minor and major projects. Plan and schedule required work that can only be completed when production is not running.
