Oversee daily maintenance operations,preventative and planned maintenance and ensure minimal plant downtime. - Support cross functional teams by addressing maintenance related concerns promptly and effectively. - Ensure equipment and machine reliability,to maintain quality output. - Manage the Maintenance and Facilities budget,monitor expenditure and submit quarterly reports on spend vs budget. - Lead continuous improvement efforts and drive process optimization. - Ensure availability of critical machine spares and maintain inventory accuracy. - Implement corrective actions and lead root cause analysis for maintenance and facilities related issues. - Supervise and develop Maintenance and Facilities team members,conduct performance reviews and enforce HSE compliance. - Take ownership of access control,surveillance systems and overall upkeep and maintenance of facilities.

As part of the site leadership team my main responsibilities are - Site GMR 2.1 appointee - To ensure site Machinery is in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. - Onsite Utilities Management : (Purified Water Plant/Waste Water Treatment Plant / HVAC/ Boilers/ Air Compressors) - Energy Management (Energy Contracts Management, Energy saving, Co2 reduction Projects ) - New Utilities Installation and new Building Construction Projects ( Building code standards, Procurement Partnering, Wiring codes standards ) - Fire protection system and Emergency Alarms. - Assuring the full compliance of facilities area to the company's QA and EHS standards and programs (Safety Boilers, Escalation work , Electrical safety, Contractors safety, Waste Water, GMP, National Safety and Environment regulations and local authority permits. - Manage Compliance to Property Loss ,Prevention and Insurance. - General services contract management (Soft services : Cleaning, Catering, Mailing and Offices ,Landscaping, Pest Control)

Develop & revise Engineering Department documentation to ensure they are relevant. Lead major investigation and projects from Engineering perspective. Lead,mentor,delegate & monitor progress of tasks assigned to less experience staff to ensure an even workload. Ensure adhere to health and safety standards in compliance with the company policy and legislative requirements. Site management providing optimal control over assets are properly maintained and safe for use. Security: Manage the policies and procedures in line with the company site security manual. Environmental Management: Leading the planning and implementation of environmental projects as per targets agreed with the EHS. Service Management: Negotiate and implement SLA's for cleaning,Pest Control, Waste sorting and canteen facilities in line with the company authority levels. Attend the monthly Health and Safety meetings implementing actions identified compilation of a weekly contractor hours report. Provide expert power plant process knowledge as applied to the Howden product range to ensure equipment operation is in keeping with design intentions. Lead from shop floor with visible focus on achieving daily production throughout improved safety and product quality. Drives Employment Equity within the plant Engineering team to ensure that diversity is achieved at all levels and that statutory targets and requirements are met. Ensure all mechanical and electrical equipment and installations are maintened or installed in accordance with statutory requirements and business needs. Perform work inspections and checks for completeness of tasks. Plan and manage weekend maintenance tasks and projects against budget. Co-ordinates daily activities of engineering personnel. Ensures the neatness of the buildings and premises. Plan and manage leave roster of Engineering staff. Coordinates and inspects major contract work on the electrical,refrigeration,mechanical and plumbing and other related systems.
