My team develops a desktop application for equity derivatives sales and trading teams that they use to price simple and complex equity derivative products. The application incorporates RFQ workflows between MS sales teams and external clients, having close integration with external broker-dealer systems. Essential features for trading desks include market data management, low latency and highly reliable pricing for derivative products, data analytics and integration with trade capture systems. OTC Equity Derivatives Technology Team My team provides a desktop application to Equity Derivatives traders. The application is responsible for capturing and processing OTC deals, sending details to various downstream systems, such as confirmation -, settlement -, payment - and regulatory reporting systems. Desk support team | 2017 - 2018 - Working closely with our traders on features that need to be delivered outside of the regular SDLC Team lead | 2016 - 2018 - Project management and delivery management for a team of 4-5 developers Migrating our codebase from Perforce to Git. Responsibilities included: - Planning the migration process - Planning the team's branching strategy keeping in mind of the team's SDLC - Presenting the ideas to higher management and making sure that their requirements met with the new ideas - Split up the work between developers (across time zones) and making sure we deliver the project in time - Training teammates how to use Git In addition to the previous tools and technologies, I started to do development in .NET/WPF.

OTC Equity Derivatives Technology Team Technologies and tools used: Scala, Python, Perl, Shell scripts, Spring, Gradle, SOAP, REST, JUnit, DB2, Sybase, Perforce, Git, TeamCity, Jenkins, designing Continuous Deployment, Agile (Scrum), Jira.

During this intensive training program, we have been taught the most common programming languages and the applications of the latest technologies by world-class teachers. The training consisted of two main parts. The first phase was obtaining a deeper knowledge of Unix/Linux, C/C++, Java, C#, SQL, and Object Oriented programming. The learning of JSP, WPF, Scala, JXB, Hibernate, DB2, Sybase, and proprietary technologies used at Morgan Stanley made up the second phase.

I was working on one of the back-end components of a trade booking system that had been written in Java. The task was to develop a framework for capturing and serializing the communication between our system and the external systems to a file. The tool aimed to help the development team in everyday testing as the component would no longer depend on external systems (external systems were often unreliable in test/QA environments). My responsibilities included researching and finding a suitable solution, designing the framework, presenting it to the team, and eventually implementing the agreed approach. At the end of this internship, I also had the chance to gain some experience in JBehave testing as I had to integrate the previously described tool to automated JBehave tests that run in a Continuous Integration System. Technologies and tools used: Java, Spring, JBehave, Ant, SOAP, Message Queue, DB2, Perforce, TeamCity, and shell scripts.

My University employed exceptional students to help professors organize and teach the course labs. I helped prepare the following labs: Operations Research, Approximate and Symbolic Computations, and Object Oriented programming (Java). My responsibilities included the preparation of the lab material, practicing with students during the class, test creation and evaluation.

Equity Derivatives traders used an excel spreadsheet to check their open positions and their market data. The spreadsheet was inefficient as it didn’t automatically update and refresh the necessary data points. During my internship, my responsibility was to create a WPF applet, which could be integrated in the main Trade Capture system. By the end of the internship, I successfully integrated the applet in the main system and deployed it to production. Technologies used for this project: WPF and .NET 4.0
