Ranedis Pharmaceuticals, a private biopharmaceutical company, focused on the treatment and management of rare and neglected diseases. Initial efforts focused on lysosomal storage diseases.

Hsiri Diagnostics, a private development stage diagnostics company, created rapid detection technology for the diagnosis of bacterial infections.

Directed all financial, accounting and human resource management of the Numoda Group (Numoda Corporation, Numoda Technologies, and Numoda Capital Innovations) which provided clinical trial management software and related contract research management services to the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry. Responsible for budgeting, financial analysis, financial reporting, AR-client and AP-vendor relationships, cost controls, treasury, tax, employee benefit and audit activities. Oversaw financial and accounting system controls and standards. Ensured timely financial and statistical report delivery to senior management/BOD.

Identified, evaluated, and structured strategic debt and equity investments in prospect companies in the pharmaceutical / biotechnology market for the corporate investment arm of the Numoda Group. Served as intercompany liaison responsible for coordinating the due diligence process, working directly with C suite executives.

Managed financial operations, corporate administration, and coordination of store development activities for local master franchisee of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation (NASDAQ – KKD). • Coordinated opening of first four local sites in less than 12 months including all construction management, vendor procurement, and administrative components, hiring over 150 employees. • Developed annual budgets, established benefits program, managed IT infrastructure build-out. • Facilitated the identification, negotiation, and leasing efforts for first four sites.

Managed divisional financial operations, including budgets, forecasts, financial statement preparation, variance analyses, backlog reports and period close work papers. Supported corporate strategic management through divisional financial planning and analysis. Ensured compliance with regulatory requirements by providing divisional support for external financial audits and the filing of statements and reports with the applicable taxing authorities. • Coordinated post-acquisition corporate integration of accounting processes/systems conversion. • Developed divisional SOX internal control policies, outlining internal control processes and testing procedures in conjunction with the Corporate Compliance Department. • Directed divisional office consolidation project management, including search process and negotiations for relocation to a 45,000 square foot facility. • Negotiated all client and vendor contracts and purchase orders.

Managed all financial, sales, product development and operational aspects of this early stage software development and healthcare consulting company, including strategic management, contract negotiations, budgeting, hiring, and financial statement preparation. Marketed proprietary pharmaceutical utilization analysis software to healthcare insurers.

Engagements included: • Baltic-American Enterprise Fund/USAID (Headquartered in Washington DC): International investment adviser from January 1998 to April 2002. Served as country manager in Vilnius, Lithuania and Tallinn, Estonia. Structured, negotiated, and documented debt and private equity transactions in the Baltic Region. Prepared comprehensive valuations of privately and publicly held companies. Prepared private placement memorandum for the follow-on Baltic Emerging Growth Fund. • Greater Philadelphia Venture Capital Corp: Board Member from January 2000 to June 2001 for a former SBIC which was converted to a diversified financial investment company. • UPM Corporation: Board member/shareholder from January 2000 to September 2003 for this early stage distributor of a Dow Chemical herbicide product to retail mass merchandisers. Raised seed capital from private investors for operating expenditures and initial capital investments. Product sold through distributors, online, and on QVC.
