I currently serve as Acting Director in the Maintenance Enforcement Division, after my stint as Deputy Director with the Legal Policy Group (Ministry of Law). My work intersects law, policy and operations. My team comprises 22 officers handling conciliation and investigations in the context of maintenance enforcement. Additionally, our work includes designing our case management system, implementing workflows, developing GenAI tools, driving data analysis and working with external stakeholders. Having been in both the private and public sectors, my experience spans a variety of areas, namely civil, family and criminal litigation, as well as legal policy and ops policy. Previously a Team Lead in the Legal Aid Bureau, I co-headed the Civil and Syariah Cases Practice Groups and the Legal Tech Committee. Before that, I was a partner in Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP, practising commercial and criminal litigation. I co-authored the books, “Muslim Family Law in Singapore” (2022) and “Financial Crimes in Singapore” (2014).
