During my internship, I worked on simulating and analyzing the behavior of composite laminates under high-impact conditions, leveraging ABAQUS, a powerful finite element analysis (FEA) software. Composite laminates, known for their strength-to-weight ratio and structural efficiency, are increasingly used in aerospace, automotive, and other engineering applications. The project aimed to understand how these materials respond to extreme impact forces and predict potential failure modes. I started by researching the mechanical properties of composite materials, focusing on how they behave under various impact scenarios. My responsibilities included creating detailed simulation models in ABAQUS that accurately represented the laminates' material properties and boundary conditions. The simulations focused on high-impact forces, assessing the stress distribution, deformation, and failure mechanisms. This process required constant calibration of material parameters to ensure the results aligned with theoretical and experimental data. Throughout the internship, I collaborated closely with my mentors to refine simulation techniques and troubleshoot issues that arose during the modeling process. I also used post-processing tools within ABAQUS to analyze the results, enabling me to visualize the impact effects on the composite laminates, such as delamination, cracks, and stress concentration points. I recently completed a project internship focused on Amazon Web Services (AWS), where I gained practical experience in managing and configuring cloud servers. This opportunity allowed me to deepen my understanding of AWS's cloud infrastructure and the critical role servers play in cloud computing. During the internship, I worked on setting up and managing AWS EC2 instances, learning how to launch, monitor, and optimize cloud servers for performance and efficiency. I also explored other AWS services such as S3 for cloud storage and RDS for database management, giving me a broader perspective on cloud-based solutions. Additionally, I gained insights into cloud security, working with firewalls, security groups, and access controls to ensure server integrity. This experience helped me understand the importance of securing cloud infrastructure while maintaining scalability and flexibility. Overall, this internship strengthened my skills in cloud computing and gave me hands-on exposure to AWS’s powerful ecosystem. I am eager to apply this knowledge in future roles and continue developing my expertise in cloud technology and infrastructure management.
