About

I currently lead a research group focused on the role of oxygen and vitamin cofactors in disease and metabolism. During my previous work, I discovered that hypoxia could serve as a therapy for mitochondrial disorders. We are now interested in finding additional disorders which may benefit from "turning the oxygen or vitamin dials". We also use systems-level approaches to understand all oxygen-and vitamin dependent reactions in the cell. Ultimately, the goal is to modulate oxygen and vitamin levels to treat metabolic and age-associated disorders.
