Malik is a seasoned Waste Management Executive and certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) with over 12 years of leadership experience in solid waste treatment, recycling, and municipal solid waste (MSW) management. He is widely recognized for his strategic vision, operational excellence, and transformative contributions to advancing sustainable waste systems across Africa. Throughout his career, Malik has built a reputation as a results-driven leader committed to driving resource recovery, environmental performance, and circular economy outcomes. Beginning his journey as a waste management engineer, he quickly advanced into leadership roles where he designed and implemented innovative waste processing solutions, optimized complex operational systems, and led large-scale sustainability projects with measurable impact. In his current role as Head of Operations at Accra Compost and Recycling Plant (ACARP), Malik has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives that have enhanced plant performance, significantly increased recycling and composting rates, and strengthened the facility’s position as a benchmark for modern waste treatment in the region. His strategic direction has also accelerated the adoption of waste valorization technologies, alternative fuel solutions, and data-driven approaches to waste management. Malik holds an Executive Certificate in Leadership from The Ghana Military Academy, where he distinguished himself through exceptional leadership capabilities, earning recognition during the highly competitive Outdoor Leaderless Test (OLT). His PMP® certification further underscores his ability to deliver complex infrastructure and sustainability projects on time, on budget, and with lasting impact.
