Hey, I'm India, a designer, maker, and artist based in London. I'm currently working as Head of Props for The Magic of Things. This job role requires me to oversee the prop department as a whole, taking the lead on the designing, planning and fabrication of interactive props for our themed immersive experiences. I am also involved in designing, coordinating and implementing interior and exterior design schemes. Outside of this role I also design and create bespoke artworks and homeware pieces for my business Sunday Works, specialising in fibre arts. I trained in prop making at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and graduated in June 2018. I have hands-on industry experience in prop and venue design, prop making for a range of outcomes and genres, set-dressing, and project management.

After freelancing for 7 months, I transitioned into a permanent position within the company under the title of Design Manager. In this role I am responsible for designing the interior and exterior of our international magical-themed pop-up venues, designing, planning and fabricating interactive props and set-pieces for venues, and implementing these designs in coming to life. The role demands strong organisation and project management skills alongside practical and theoretical knowledge of creative processes.

From June-December 2018 I worked as a freelance prop maker contracted by The Magic of Things LTD. This role progressed from designing and fabricating interactive props for international venues, to assisting with venue design and implementation of these designs. I was involved in the opening of new magical-themed pop-up venues from the early design stages, through drafting, construction, buying, and get-in/dressing. In January 2018 I accepted a permanent position within the company under the title of Design Manager.
