• Conducted and analyzed the organization's finances to inform future budget decisions. • Compiled and pitched the annual BRC sponsorship package to various shareholders and industry-leading companies. • Negotiated new sponsorships for the annual Black Career Conference, securing $50,000 in external funding.

• Utilized diverse and relevant forms of media to convey messaging to prospective members and various audiences. • Refined the processes used to assess relevancy in the Black Career Conference messaging. • Developed action plans to guide the use of media to encourage student engagement within BRC.

• Assembled and organized various client investment portfolios and reports using RIS, Gateway, and Oasis • Directed an office initiative to update remedy notifications for all branch employees which decreased internal errors and simplified the emailing processes • Pitched to BMO and United Way with a team of interns as part of BMO’s annual innovation challenge

• Created, maintained, and entered information into various databases • Improved and implemented various visual changes to the Nesbitt Burns website • Organized different filing systems to allow for easier access across departments • Supported various team members in both office activities and daily business transactions

• Collaborated with other interns and directors to organize various industry-focused databases. • Researched insurance-focused awards and various scholarship application deadlines. • Assisted the Branding Director in revising the RCIA website and marketing materials.

Played a large role in planning a range of youth-centered events that encouraged debate on topics affecting the Somali community in Canada, provided networking opportunities, and a safe space to meet others.

During the 2019/2020 school year I had held the elected position of social convenor on the Martingrove CI Student Council. My role included organizing large-scale events that encouraged involvement in school activities and connected the MCI community. I oversaw the planning, publicity, and ticket sales of the annual Semi-formal, Haunted house, Valentines day booth, and Easter bunny pictures. I also played a large role in planning annual spirit days throughout the year.

GEM is founded, led and made up of women who believe every girl deserves equal opportunity to develop professional skills, pursue higher education and build successful career paths. I was part of this amazing program as a mentee in 2019 and have been able to experience workshops at Google, Oxford, RBC and more! I also won a scholarship from Burgandy Asset Management at the end of my time as a mentee.

The EPO is comprised of approximately 60 musicians, professionals, and amateurs alike, with professional section leaders. Orchestra members represent all ages and from all walks of life and include a number of advanced music students who bring their enthusiasm and growing talents to the organization. I was a bassist in the orchestra from 2016 - 2020 and received the Etobicoke Philharmonic student scholarship for the 2019/2020 playing year.
