Ilenia Tinnirello

I am a Full Professor in Telecommunications and Machine Learning at the University of Palermo, with a strong background in AI-driven communication technologies, IoT, and cybersecurity. With a Ph.D. in Electronic, Computer, and Telecommunications Engineering and international research experience in South Korea and Singapore, I have dedicated my career to advancing next-generation wireless networks, AI applications, and digital transformation strategies. As the coordinator of the European Digital Innovation Hub i-NEST, I drive AI and cybersecurity solutions for public administrations and businesses. My research extends to sustainable and inclusive ICT solutions, from AI-based mobility tools for the visually impaired to smart water management in agriculture. Beyond academia, I serve on the boards of leading national and international telecom consortia and foundations, influencing strategic policies and research funding.
