Established in 1995, it is the oldest telecommunications company in the country. Geographically TNM network covers over 88% of Malawi. TNM operates a 4G network enabling advanced broadband multimedia services, in addition to 2G and 3G networks. As a Senior BSS Engineer reporting to the country Manager, I manage a team of about 5 Engineers and 2 Technicians. Main responsibilities being: • Network Systems implementation and monitoring for high-end Corporate customers. • Installing, Configuring, and monitoring network peripherals like, Access points, Backhauls, Switches, Routers and other network gadgets. • Expansion of Wired and Wireless network coverage. • Network System Monitoring and Performing corrective and preventive measures on ICT equipment. • Developing detailed project documentation outlining timelines and requirements. • Managing milestones to keep projects aligned with schedule and budget goals. • Installation, Managing and monitoring of Wireless and Wired Network Systems. • Coordinating smooth project transitions and handovers to end-users after system installation. • Offering technical support on-site or via phone or email to customers. Main Achievements: - Installation and Deployment of Coca-Cola company VPN, Wireless and Wired LAN Service country wide. - Installations of Internet and Network Systems for Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority Tele centers in the Southern region of Malawi. - Installation and deployment of Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) during the 2019 Tripartite County elections for the whole southern region.
