Ifrit Alam

Being part of the ETCIC Boys Youth Group has been an important part of my journey as a young Muslim. It’s a space where Muslim boys come together to strengthen our connection to Islam, support each other, and grow in our deen and character. We meet regularly for discussions, prayers, and events that help us stay grounded in our faith while also having fun and building brotherhood. I’ve had the opportunity to help plan some of these events—from community service projects to social gatherings—which has taught me valuable leadership and teamwork skills. This group has helped me stay connected to my identity, grow spiritually, and be part of a strong, positive Muslim community.

From June 2023 to October 2023, I worked as a stocker, where I gained hands-on experience in maintaining inventory accuracy, restocking shelves efficiently, and organizing product displays to enhance the customer shopping experience. I was responsible for unloading deliveries, ensuring proper product rotation, keeping the sales floor clean and safe, and occasionally assisting customers with locating items. This role helped me develop strong time management, attention to detail, physical stamina, and teamwork skills, all while learning to adapt quickly in a fast-paced retail environment.

From September 2023 to May 2025, I participated in the Dual Enrollment program at Century College, where I completed advanced college-level coursework alongside my high school studies. I took challenging classes such as Composition I, Chemistry, and Macroeconomics, which helped me strengthen my writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills. This experience allowed me to earn college credits early, explore subjects across multiple disciplines, and prepare myself academically and personally for the demands of full-time college education.
