Managing the North Yorkshire Police Major Fraud and Financial Investigation teams. Setting policy and strategy for major fraud investigations, typically with a value of over £1 million. Ensuring that the powers provided by the Proceeds Of Crime Act 2002 and the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 are used to investigate crime and deprive criminals of their assets. Developing links and working practices with national and regional counter fraud agencies including the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau and HMRC. Being a single point of contact for the reporting and investigation of Electoral Fraud matters.

Responsible for setting up and coordinating the family liaison officer scheme in North Yorkshire Police. Coordinating and managing the famly liaison officers deployed to families bereaved through murder, manslaughter, road traffic collisons or after mass fatality disaster or incident where indentification of the deceased requires the collection of ante mortem data. Representing the North East Region on the ACPO National Family Liiaison Steering Group, setting national policy for Family Liaison.

Leading a team of specialist police officers and support staff with responsibilities for managing registered sex offenders within North Yorkshire. Liaising closely with partner agencies including the Probation Service and National Health Service. Chairing level 3 Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement meetings to manage level 3 offenders within the community.

Introducing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) into the policing of North Yorkshire. Prince 2 project management of the multi million pound project that included the siting of fixed ANPR cameras over major roads, communication links from these remote sites to a central computer, the accquisition of a mobile ANPR enabled van, installation of ANPR cameras into patrol vehicles, the setting up of a dedicated ANPR intercept team and the back office ANPR intelligence function.

Setting up a specialist team of 20 Detectives across North Yorkshire to investiagte and prosecute those involved in the supply of illegal drugs. Representing North Yorkshire Police at the county's Drug Action Team meetings, to minmise the impact that the abuse of illegal drugs has upon the community. Liaising with the eight community safety partnerships across North Yorkshire and reporting to them on the use of monies awarded to the North Yorkshire Police Drug Squad from the Communities Against Drugs fund

Ground commander for covert surveillance operations utilising conventional and technical surevillance techniques.

Seconded to the Serious Fraud Office investigation into the £330 million collapse of MTM (Plc), a chemical company based in North Yorkshire. Responsible for investigating the company's links with investment banks and institutions in the City of London which resulted in the UK's first conviction for misleading the money markets

Responsible for financial investigations into the finances of drug suppliers and the confiscation of their assets.
