Ian Campbell

I design and build distributed micro services supporting fraud detection systems in a large-scale, highly regulated environment. My work focuses on creating reliable, observable services that process and analyze high-volume data to support real-time and near-real-time decision making. I’m closely involved in efforts to adopt and integrate AI capabilities into existing engineering workflows. This often means bridging legacy workflows with newer data and AI tooling, and helping teams think through where automation genuinely adds value versus where it introduces risk or complexity. My role regularly involves working with large datasets, collaborating across engineering, data, and business teams, and contributing to system design decisions that balance performance, security, and maintainability. I operate comfortably in ambiguous problem spaces and focus on making complex systems understandable and resilient in production.

Developed new features and wrote bug fixes for embedded systems used in production environments. Provided design expertise for new features being added to mature systems.

Internship program designed to create future leaders in the IT space. Responsible for leading effort to eliminate a legacy devices, produce training material for future hires and perform cost analysis on impactful optimization projects. Directly oversaw the coordination and accepted accountability for over a dozen contractors within the scope of project efforts. Collaborated with other team members to ensure optimal efficiency pertaining to telephony services.
