Ian Millar

Came into whisky in 1971 at Blair Athol Distillery in my home town Pitlochry. In the early nineteen eighties I moved into production management as Production Manager at Blair Athol, end of the eighties I managed Bladnoch Distillery, moved to Mortlach as Manager in 1991, then to Linkwood and Glen Elgin Distillery in 1996, transferred to Dalwhinnie and Blair Athol in 1998 before joining Wm Grants to manage their Malt Distilleries, Glenfiddich,Balvenie and Kininvie. In 2006 I moved into more of a marketing position as Global Whisky Ambassador tasked with setting up a wider team of ambassadors in each of our key markets. In 2015 moved into a part time role as Prestige Whisky Specialist working more on vintage cask and bottle sales. 2022 started working with the Shetland Single Malt Whisky Team on their proposed Distillery in Lerwick . Celebrating 30 years as a Director of the Whisky Museum in Dufftown.
