Scrum tutor- As a teaching assistant, this role included mentoring and assisting foundation year students undertaking the mathematics module. I was responsible for ensuring new concepts in math were well understood, answering questions that students found challenging (often sharing tricks I used to solve problems), setting practice questions and documenting student progress which was then relayed to the module lecturer.

Conducted a Master’s thesis working as a research and design engineer supported by the JLR research group. New generation vehicles will address the sensor wiring harness and related cost problems by replacing wired sensor-ECU connections (non-mission-critical at the moment) with wireless communications technologies. One of the key challenges is to ensure reliable communications in a complex system via wireless channels with multipath fading and high loss rate. This project (as part of the JLR supported research project), cooperative communications technologies was investigated with appropriate transmission and relaying protocols identified and applied to this environment. Both space diversity and time diversity was created through a proper design and implementation of a virtual MIMO system to recover packet losses through adaptive ARQ as well as FEC mechanisms. The whole system was evaluated in terms of its performance analysis on throughput, packet loss rate, latency and bandwidth efficiency.

Primary work criteria included Installation and configuration of various types of CCTV cameras (Dome,Bullet,PTZ) as well as troubleshooting faults due to malfunction(s) in the device(s)/network. Faults often occurred at the physical layer and troubleshooting often included re- crimping Ethernet cables and replacing BNC or Balun connectors.
