Provided leadership in the simplification of technical architecture complexity through initiatives such as server consolidation and streamlining of Infrastructure management and operations practices. Deep technical knowledge including devising infrastructure solutions for business critical systems and services that are highly available, scalable and address company’s disaster recovery requirements. Developed the future technology architecture including design, integration, delivery and migration.

Contributed with design and implementation facilitating improvement and modernization of IT infrastructure into enterprise designed architecture for non-for-profit organisation consisted of 2500+ highly dispersed users utilising VMware vSphere 5.1 and 5.5, Citrix XenApp and StoreFront platforms, data storage systems implemented on EMC VNX hardware.

Proactively participated in design, maintenance and improvement of technical operations of enterprise IT infrastructure comprised 350 virtual servers on VMware vSphere 5 platform, production and disaster recovery data storage systems implemented on NetApp filers, LAN/WAN networking based on Cisco and Brocade hardware, security controls administration enforced by McAfee security products suit.

Provided technical expertise and hands-on system administration in enterprise IT environment of 800+ users and 100+ servers, comprised Windows 2008/2003 Active Directory, Novell OES2 SLES & Netware 6.5 and VMware 4.0 operating systems.

Over that period I have provided advice and support to various businesses in their IT and ICT requirements for companies like Absolut Real Estate and iTech Test Labs.

Delivered, monitored and managed the ICT infrastructure at four company data centres located in Melbourne, Sydney, Brussels and Vienna. Strategic planning of potential scale-out of the geographically dispersed infrastructure systems including communications, database and applications components forming 24x7 mission-critical transactional environment. Handle heavy resource management and coordination with internal departments, vendors and network integration companies to define scopes of work, technical designs, product selection, required resources, schedules and price negotiation. Managed LAN and WAN daily support, configuration and network changes, constant system monitoring of all major infrastructure components as database and application servers, networking and security appliances. Maintained system administration of office environment for about 80 users. Projects Infrastructure implementation of Medicare EasyClaim initiative in conjunction with CBA, ANZ and NAB banks. Enforcement of security compliance requirements according to Australian Communications-Electronic Security Instruction 33 (ACSI 33) and Infosec-Registered Assessor Program (I-RAP) endorsed by Defence Signals Directorate related to the Medicare project. Managing the project from concept to commissioning of company secondary Australian data centre in Sydney. Design and implementation of office setup for software development team at Manila, Philippines. Assisted in the implementation of new VMWare environment for software developers based on ESX Server 3. Active Directory migration and upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows 2008 and Email system migration from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2007 SP1 utilising VMware ESXi server, Local Continuous Replication and Standby Continuous Replication features implementation, enabling Apple iPhone unified communication component based on ActiveSync technology, implementation of secure Outlook Web Access via SSL certificate

Solely provided hands-on technical support for all levels of service and system availability to the company departments and their customers. Strategic planning to identify current and future IT needs of the company. Management of the IT budget, including consideration of where 3rd party consultants are required, justify in-house IT position establishment in terms of business efficiency and IT cost control. Ensuring that all Network Integration, Project management, and Disaster Recovery plans are provided within approved budgetary guidelines. Participated in maintenance and support for Windows 2000 Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 2000/2003 environment for 250 users nationally. Implemented new VMWare environment for system consolidation utilising VMware Player, Workstation and Server components, performed physical to virtual machines migration, tested virtual appliances for financial and technical feasibility. System administration for proxy server (Squid), anti-spam filter (Spam Assassin) and network monitoring system (BigBrother, MRTG) based on Linux.

Participated in design, deployment and support of Windows 2003 Active Directory enabled Citrix MetaFrame XP application farm. Project management and implementation of anti-spam functionality of the organisation’s SMTP gateway (MAILsweeper 4.3). Provided total infrastructure support for MYOB international branches working in Global IT Operations department on rostered shifts (24x5). Participated in OS migration from Solaris version 8 to 9 on all major production servers utilising JumpStart/JASS technology. Developed procedure for database migration from Oracle version 8.1.7 to 9.2.0 on Solaris platform. Implementation of high availability feature for redundant Cisco PIX 515 firewall connection.

Project management, design and implementation of network migration from Novell 4.1 to Windows 2000 Active Directory environment. Assembled hardware peripherals (RAID controller, hot-swappable disks, SCSI tape drive, redundant power supply) for the new Compaq server, installed and configured Windows 2000 AD operating system including Exchange, SQL, ISA and IIS components. Installed and configured Veritas BackupExec and Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate edition on the server. Implemented BlackBerry Enterprise Server installation. Provided infrastructure assistance for integration and implementation of ACCPAC CRM system running on MS SQL.

Participated in major project implementation for Windows Active Directory deployment and support at Rio Tinto. System administration of Microsoft Exchange 5.5/2000 systems deployed in Alphawest and Rio Tinto. Participated in deployment and support for Citrix MetaFrame server in Alphawest to provide enterprise access to applications and information. Prepared and performed implementation plans as required for migration of corporate firewall (Checkpoint NG) from Windows to Sun Solaris platform. Provided professional services for internal business needs and external customers based on Alpahwest status as Sun Platinum Reseller. System administration of Remedy applications running on two internal Sun Solaris servers, based on Sybase Adaptive Database server providing helpdesk services for BP-Australia and Visy Industries.
