OsteoCure Therapeutics is a Duke University spinout focused on accelerating bone repair while reducing pain. Our multifunctional, injectable system is cost-effective and easy for surgeons to integrate into their practice. Our working prototype demonstrates the potential to bolster bone repair in healthy and impaired healing animal models, while also reducing animal pain. Our product can be used for many bone applications spanning a $25B market.

More specifically I am investigating the potential of the materials to control pain, as well as their role in aging.

•Tutor elementary to college students in biology, mathematics, chemistry, biochemistry, biostatistics, and SAT/ACT/AP Preperation (math or sciences). and study skills •Draft question sets for Varsity Tutoring practice exams

• Collect, pool and analyze data for study of the S15 protein in multiple bacterial species. • Perform Genomic DNA Preps, DNA transformations, gel electrophoresis, PCR, DNA ligations, and other experimental procedures. • Maintain detailed lab notes. • Co-author and published research with the other Meyer Lab team members. • Conduct research and create a manuscript for my senior thesis project entitled "A Validation of a Putative Actinobacteria RNA Regulator for Ribosomal Protein S15."

• Assist the professor in answering student inquiry. • Hold office hours and tend to class of 90 upper-level biology students.

• Oversee a floor of 45 residents and program floor events weekly. • Work with a staff of 17 to attend to residents’ needs and maintain safety and order in the community. • Monitor two buildings on rounds. • Offer support and guidance to freshmen residents.

• Manage the security at the entrance of the building and answer customer questions.

• Work under the guidance of John G. Kennedy, MD FRCS. • Collect and analyze data for various clinical studies of orthopedic surgery outcomes. • Co-authored five journal articles for national publication and learned working as a research team. • Co-authored four-poster presentations for national orthopedic meetings. • Perform cadaver dissections, read patient charts, speak with patients for follow up data.

• Shadowed John G. Kennedy, MD FRCS in both the clinic and the operating room. • Obtain histories from patients prior to Dr. Kennedy and took photographs of operations for research. • Learned to read MRI and radiographs of the foot and ankle.
