Hunter Fasteau
Student School Board Representative | 2025-Present @ Piedmont Unified School District
About
I’m a junior at Piedmont High School with a strong interest in comparative literature, minority advocacy, and philosophy. Grounded in compassion, dedication, and open-mindedness, I aim to create positive impact through mentorship, service, and inclusive community engagement. Over the past two years, I’ve mentored students with diverse identities through Affinity Mentorship and tutored Spanish-speaking elementary students in English and math through the Piedmont Community Service Crew. I co-lead the African Affinity Student Union (AASU/BSU) across PHS and MHS, collaborate with the Diversity Club and Students Demand Action, and serve on the DEIB Student Advisory Committee to the Superintendent. I’ve helped organize events like the Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day, Diversity Week, and the “I Am Here” assembly, and I’ve delivered speeches to the PUSD School Board advocating for equity and representation. I also have training in restorative justice and experience facilitating conversations around identity, inclusion, and accountability. Outside of advocacy, I’m a varsity tennis player, former baseball athlete, and a C2-certified English speaker and conversationally fluent in Castilian Spanish with a growing interest in human behavior, organizational leadership, and community-building.
