I definitely love to learn! Learning from every field of knowledge, gauging data trends, and engaging in lateral thinking to come up with fresh and innovative ideas is my game! Finally, building the future through my students and my ventures is a thrill! I typically consult in MedTech, Digital Health, NanoTech, and Life Sciences; and work in the healthcare, sports/esports, consumer neuroscience and design interaction markets, making use of exponential technologies such as AI/ML, XR, 3D printing, BCIs and more. Feel free to contact me with your challenges in these areas or, actually, in any other area. I just need to start with a blank page! :) Finally, I try to go through life the Judo way: in a "gentle", body and mind efficient, and respectful and mutual beneficial approach to others. EDGE Digital Lab is a translational research initiative focused on the development and deployment of solutions for wellbeing, performance, longevity, and health based on exponential digital technologies (such as Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality, 3D Printing, Blockchain, 5G, Cloud, IoT, Brain-Computer Interfaces, and more). The Lab is the result of my 10+ years of leading R&D and translational efforts (training, mentoring, consulting, R&D contracting and 5 spin-off companies, and counting) in the field. As a sign of times, this Lab exists in the Digital Domain, harvesting opportunities from such exponential digital technologies and empowered by worldwide remote crowdsourcing. Its physical counterpart is located at the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where I'm a senior researcher.
