The Query Rewriting team in Bing provides spelling correction, query expansion, and query augmentation services to the underlying matching and ranking services. My main duties include generating, refreshing, and improving data sources that will be consumed by the spelling and query expansion teams. - Data processing and data mining using massive data sets like Bing logs - Building alteration and translation models through machine learning and natural language processing techniques, e.g. fast rank, statistical machine translation. - Designed and implanted a metrics platform to easily calculate, store, and analyze metrics of data sources.

Windows Azure Marketplace provides a single and consistent marketplace and delivery channel for high quality information as cloud services. Information from SQL Azure, SQL Server or other databases, Windows Azure storage, web services, etc. is presented to the user in the uniform Open Data Protocol. The system is built on top of Windows Azure and using SQL Azure as the backend database. - Shipped V1 in Sep. 2010 with high quality - Contributed a lot to the test common library - Applied model based testing in my testing area, which increased coverage and reduced test cost. Other team members adopted this technique after my presentation.

Cosmos is the distributed processing and storage platform for Bing search. Scope consists of a scripting language and runtime for the retrieval, querying, and manipulating of data stored in cosmos. Petabytes of data are processed by Cosmos and Scope every day. - Worked on different parts of the system, front-end, mid execution layer, and finally focused on Scope - Deep knowledge about various components of Scope - Designed and implemented a model based framework to generate Scope scripts dynamically and found a lot of bugs
