(1) Develop various software tools from supporting motor/brake design to predicting temperature/stiffness/natural frequencies/dynamics of robotic arms. (2) Establish and conduct mechanical tests and reliability tests (ALT) on robots and their components. (3) Develop cost-effective test rigs for IQC.

(1) Conduct failure analysis of all field-returned mechanical components and servo motors in our bonders - from root cause analysis to corrective action implementation. (2) Establish reliability demonstration test plan and implement accelerated life test. (3) Ensure reliability of high precision linear/rotary motorized stages by design through FMEA and developing linear guide life calculator. (4) Develop online prognostics system for RUL prediction of the motorized stages.

(1) Design linear/rotary servo motors and motorized stages for our bonder products. (2) Maintain “In-house motor catalogue” with detailed motor specifications – including air-cored / iron-cored / 1-phase / 3-phase / linear / rotary motors. (3) Oversee in-house motor manufacturing in China plant and provide technical advice to improve production efficiency. (4) Design, build, and implement automated test stations for our motor products.

(1) Identify noise sources and transmission paths in electric motors and provide recommendations for improvement. (2) Develop and implement on-site vibro-acoustic test platforms for quality control.
